About Nonfon

My real name is Jared, but I go by Nonfon online. Don't ask me what it means, I came up with it when I was ~10 years old, and I'm pretty sure it didn't have a meaning even back then. I live-stream about economics and politics, mostly debates and reactions.

I've been interested in making content practically as long as I can remember. I made gaming content when I was younger and you'll still see me play games in the background of many of my streams. I got into politics around eighth grade, and after I finished high school in 2024, my streams have remained primarily politics focused.

I don't cover the news every day and instead tend to focus on more narrow issues I feel are within my niche. I multistream everywhere, and the full videos stay up on YouTube (assuming no copyright issues) and Rumble.

Neoliberal is probably the label that best describes me. I still consider myself left-leaning overall and vote for Democrats. I split with Democrats most on taxes, labor market regulation and unions, anti-trust, and single-payer healthcare. I favor free trade, high amounts of immigration, progressive social policy, foreign aid, and the independence of many executive agencies, which puts me at odds with much of the modern right.

Animal welfare matters a lot to me too. It's why I'm vegan, why I took the Giving What We Can pledge, and why I've done charity streams for the Shrimp Welfare Project and FarmKind. My channels and contact info are on the home page.
